Wedding Photography at Merrydale Manor.
A Wedding Venue in Cheshire
Gemma and Jon’s wedding at the breathtaking Merrydale Manor was a true summer spectacle. Set within the peaceful Cheshire countryside, Merrydale Manor is known for its sophisticated charm, pristine grounds and tranquil lake. It was the ideal setting for a day filled with colour, warmth and romance.
A Golden Summer Reception
The weather could not have been more perfect. Sunshine bathed the estate in golden light, creating the most idyllic atmosphere for their drinks reception in the garden. Guests mingled outdoors, champagne in hand, surrounded by lush greenery and the soft hum of summer breeze.
Vibrant Florals and Bridesmaid Style
Gemma had a vibrant vision for her flowers, embracing pastel brights that burst with life and personality. Her bouquet blended soft pinks, lilacs, peaches and buttery yellows in a palette that felt both luxurious and fashion forward. I thought it was especially lovely that the bridesmaids wore different coloured dresses, each with a complementary bouquet.
Portraits and Dancing
We wandered through Merrydale’s grounds for portraits, making the most of the weather. Later, the dance floor came alive with energy and we caught some wonderfully fun dancing moments that perfectly captured the spirit of the night.
An Evening Transformation
As twilight arrived, Gemma requested something a little magical. She wanted off camera flash portraits with a touch of drama, so we transformed the ceremony room into our evening set. The results were striking and cinematic, a beautiful contrast to the sunlit softness of the day.
I was joined by my second shooter for this wedding, which allowed us to tell the story from every angle. While I focused on Gemma’s preparations, my second shooter followed Jon and the guests, capturing those candid exchanges that often go unseen. Huge congratulations to Gemma and Jon, it was a perfect day for a very lovely couple. As a Wedding Photographer, This Is Why You Should Choose Merrydale Manor
Merrydale Manor comes alive in the summer. This country estate in Over Peover has gardens and grounds that are made for drinks in the sunshine and the extensive outdoor space gives you so many beautiful areas for photographs when the light turns golden.
You can marry in the indoor ceremony room or outside under open sky. The Merrydale Suite then becomes the heart of the celebration, with a private bar and foyer. The estate is offered for exclusive use, so your guests have the manor and gardens to themselves.
It is a venue that suits a joyful and colourful wedding and the gardens give a perfect backdrop for florals and pastel brights.
Why Choose Megan Maxwell as Your Wedding Photographer
People should choose me as their Merrydale Manor wedding photographer because I know how to tell a story. After fifteen years as a television director and writer at the BBC, I bring a documentary approach to wedding photography, with an eye for the moments, relationships and little details that make your day yours. Gemma and Jon’s day was a true summer spectacle, with golden light and pastel brights in Gemma’s flowers.
My approach is predominantly documentary. For most of the day I will be blending into the background, capturing the hugs, the happy tears, the questionable dance moves and all the brilliant, unexpected things happening around you. With the ceremony room, the Merrydale Suite and the gardens to work with, there is always something happening. I want you to spend your wedding day with your favourite people, not worrying about where the photographer is or what you are supposed to be doing.
I also know how important it is to have photographs of the two of you looking incredible. We will usually take around twenty minutes for a wander together around the gardens, with a little gentle direction when it is helpful. You do not need to know how to pose or feel particularly comfortable in front of a camera. That is my job.
I care about making photographs that are as beautiful as they are meaningful. Images full of life, personality and rich colour that capture not just what your wedding looked like but how it felt to be there.
Ultimately I want you to have a collection of photographs that tells the whole story. The big moments, the little moments, the people you love and all the things you might otherwise have missed. Photographs you will love looking at now and treasure for years to come.
Every collection includes full day coverage with no set hours, travel is included and your previews arrive within 48 hours.
