Andrew and Sam’s wedding at Bourton Hall was just brilliant. From the moment I arrived, the day was full of laughter, excitement and so much joy.
Bourton Hall: A Warwickshire Wedding Venue
Bourton Hall is stunning, with its sweeping staircase, light filled rooms and gardens that stretch as far as the eye can see. It’s grand without ever feeling formal and it was the perfect canvas for Andrew and Sam to have their day exactly as they wanted it.
Getting Ready Together
The morning was easygoing and rather untraditional which I absolutely loved. Andrew and Sam got ready together. They helped one another get dressed and enjoyed a few drinks with their groomsmen. Before the ceremony, they wandered the grounds and said hello to their guests. It was such a calm way to start the day.
The Ceremony and First Dance
Andrew and Sam also walked one another down the aisle which was lovely. After a beautiful ceremony, came the confetti! The blue looked perfect in the photos. After a delicious meal and some seriously hilarious speeches, the grooms did their first dance by Bourton Hall’s famous staircase. Surrounded by their loved ones, they danced under a flurry of confetti. It was such a special moment and I love how their friends and family gathered on the stairs to watch their dance.
The Drag With No Name
The evening reached a new level of excitement when The Drag With No Name appeared. Sparkling, theatrical and high energy, the performance had everyone on the dance floor. It was impossible not to get swept up in the fun.

As a Wedding Photographer, This Is Why You Should Choose Bourton Hall
Bourton Hall is a house I could photograph in for days. It is an Italianate manor with its terrace perched on a ridge above the Leam Valley and 15 acres of lawns, gardens and woodland unfold beneath it. There is a croquet lawn, a fountain, an Italianate pond and hidden corners of garden that you only find when you wander. The outdoor space is so extensive that there is always another beautiful spot just around the next turn.
Inside the staircase is stunning and two glass cupolas flood the main hall with natural light, which makes it one of my favourite places for portraits when you want to stay indoors. Marry in the former Catholic chapel under its carved wood and gold leaf ceiling, or in the Italian Room beneath a crystal chandelier. In warmer weather you can say your vows in the gardens with the house or the rose garden as your backdrop.
It is grand without ever feeling formal, a place where people relax quickly. Your wedding party can stay in the main house or the Coach House, which keeps the whole weekend feeling like a house party. The house is yours alone, with a personal wedding manager to look after the day.

My approach is predominantly documentary. For most of the day I will be blending into the background, capturing the hugs, the happy tears, the questionable dance moves and all the brilliant, unexpected things happening around you. With the sweeping staircase, the light filled rooms and the gardens to work with, there is always something happening. I want you to spend your wedding day with your favourite people, not worrying about where the photographer is or what you are supposed to be doing.
I also know how important it is to have photographs of the two of you looking incredible. We will usually take around twenty minutes for a wander together around the gardens and the terrace above the Leam Valley, with a little gentle direction when it is helpful. You do not need to know how to pose or feel particularly comfortable in front of a camera. That is my job.
I care about making photographs that are as beautiful as they are meaningful. Images full of life, personality and rich colour that capture not just what your wedding looked like but how it felt to be there.
